Bloomsburg Downs Slippery Rock in Field Hockey
SLIPPERY ROCK —Maribeth Brozena scored once and had two assists to lead Bloomsburg University to a 5-0 win over Slippery Rock in field hockey action Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies got on the board at the 8:58 mark when Ashley Heckard scored off a Brozena assist. Brozena would score herself at the 26:45 mark to give Bloomsburg a 2-0 lead. The Huskies made it 3-0 when Morgan Wolf scored off a Brozena's second assist with less than a minute to play before halftime.
In the second half, freshman Jamie Vanartsdalen scored two unassisted goals to make the final 5-0.
Bloomsburg is now 13-1, 9-1 in the PSAC. The win was number 1,498 for head coach Jan Hutchinson combined between field hockey and softball at Bloomsburg. The Huskies are back in action Sunday playing Bellarmine College at Slippery Rock starting at 11 a.m.
